The Black & Blue party is
quite different from other raves. The music is not the usual style
that would be heard at a rave, rather it is more oriented towards
'club anthems' though there is lots of house, techno and trance
played at the event. The Black & Blue is also a very visual
party with emphasis on lots of programmed moving lighting fixtures
as well as stage shows.

General view of the party showing the
vast scale of this event.
The main "Mega Show"
takes over the party and consists of elaborately choreographed
dance numbers set to popular "club anthems" with
anything from a few dancers, to a group of 8 leather clad
motor-cyclists on Harleys who drove onto and off the stage with
engines roaring, to a finale with about 100 dancers on stage.

Views of the elaborate "Mega
Show" that took place around 2 in the morning.

Live techno PA with tracks from CD
players augmented by synths and electronic drums.
Other shows take place
with no interruptions of the dance music. The music continues and
the lighting switches to the stage or island to move the focus of
the visuals to the performance. Stage performances are scattered
throughout the 14 hour party with the closing number of the party
being a surprise live performance from "Grace".
A dancer was
equipped with two "fibre gloves" that shot fibre
optically delivered laser beams through gratings which formed vast
fans sweeping across and through the dance floor.

Two views of the "Lost
in Space" number which featured video projections of stars
and planets both on the screens and projected onto a white
backdrop on the stage and the white costumes of the
"aliens" who danced with flags and glowsticks.

Throughout the event, male and female dancers gyrated on
the stages set within the "islands" on the dance floor.
Grace performs the
final number "Not Over Yet" live to track from the
centre island stage.
